Desire Under the Elms, the classic 1924 play written by Eugene O'Neill, comes to Artists Collaborative Theatre, Inc. as our annual literary selection February 14-24 & March 7-17.

When the aging widower Ephraim Cabot returns home with his third wife—the young, alluring, headstrong Abbie—discord ensues as Ephraim’s disapproving adult sons are forced to compete with their new stepmother for inheritance of the family farm. The battle lines soon become blurred when his youngest son, Eben, finds his ardent loathing for Abbie unexpectedly turning to heated passion and forbidden love. Doomed from the beginning, not even the serene beauty and peace of the land can calm the storm that surrounds Eben and Abbie’s tortured affair.
