Appalachian Wireless announced recently it has secured the naming rights for the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center for the next five years with two five-year options available to renew after the original term expires.

“Appalachian Wireless has always prided itself on being a big supporter of our community and region,” said CEO and GM of Appalachian Wireless, Allen Gillum. “Securing the naming rights for the premier entertainment venue in Eastern Kentucky felt like a great fit for the benefit of both the Expo Center and Appalachian Wireless,” he added.

“The Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center is excited about this agreement,” said Josh Kesler, the Director of Marketing and Sales for the Expo Center. “The funding will really help our venue for the long term as we strive to continue to bring the best possible shows to the arena. Selling the rights in itself is great, but when you are able to get a company with the reputation and dedication to community that Appalachian Wireless has, it’s really a homerun for us.”

The signage for the arena has been chosen and will begin to go up in the coming weeks. The name change officially took effect on June 3rd, 2019 following the ribbon-cutting ceremony and press conference held at the arena.

In addition to being renamed the Appalachian Wireless Arena, the center welcomed a new box office sponsor in Community Trust Bank.
