Josh Little joins Southeast Kentucky Chamber staff

The Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce recently named Josh Little as its director of operations. In his new role, Little will keep the community informed on the happenings of the Chamber and its members via the Chamber’s website, social media, news releases, email blasts, monthly newsletters and more. Little will also assist in managing the day-to-day functions of the Chamber as well as, event planning and management.

A Pike County native, Little graduated from the University of Pikeville in May 2015, with a bachelor of arts degree in communication. For the past three years, he was employed by Appalachian Newspapers, Inc., and served as a staff writer for both the Appalachian News-Express in Pikeville, Ky., and the Floyd County Chronicle and Times, in Prestonsburg, Ky. During his three years with the company, he also served as the editor of the Appalachian News-Express lifestyle section. Little has a rich knowledge of the region from his time as an intern with Pike County Tourism, CVB, during which he led motor-coach bus tours visiting the Pike, Floyd, and Johnson County area.

“Josh’s education and experience makes him a great fit for the Chamber, and we’re excited to welcome him to our team,” said Jordan Gibson, president and CEO of the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. “His communication experience will not only help our Chamber grow but will play a pivotal role as we continue our work to promote our members and grow the economy of eastern Kentucky.”

Being a Pike County native, Little said he is excited to be able to serve in the region in which he was born and raised, and will forever call home.

“Eastern Kentucky will always be home to me. The people of the mountains are the most resilient, hardworking and friendly out there and deserve to be recognized for their dedication and the contributions they bring to the area. I look forward to promoting the businesses, both large and small, who choose to operate in Eastern Kentucky, providing jobs and services to the people,” said Little.
